Trust in God but tether your horse

This wild abandon of faith and the minutiae of the practical, tickled me. It made me laugh, out loud. Yes trust, but not pathologically. Make practical provision, take action or watch your horse bolt.

When we put everything outside ourselves we are abdicating our role. If we just sit back and chill in a space of sloth or fear why should life deliver any different. If we over exert and take on too much as our own we then lose the space, and the sweet grace, of life with faith. The deep dialogue of action and surrender.  Sometimes we lose sight of the moment, the reason why we are doing the action. We forget how we love what we do, why we do it, who we do it for, forfeiting the feeling of the wind against our faces and un bridled ride home.
